Growth Requires Change

Growth Requires Change

Many believers desire growth, increase, and greater impact in their lives, but growth does not happen by accident. If a person is going to go to the next level, something has to change. They cannot continue thinking the same way, living the same way, and handling things the same way while expecting greater results. Going higher requires change.

The Word of God shows us that growth is expected in the life of the believer. Second Thessalonians 1:3 says, “Your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other.” Notice that both faith and love are supposed to increase. God does not intend for us to remain stagnant. He intends for us to grow.

If a person is going to go to another level, their thinking must change. They must stop seeing life only from where they are and begin to see it from where God wants to take them. A person who continues to think small will continue to live small. God’s desire is to take His people from one level of glory to another, but the mind must be renewed to agree with that process.

Faith must also grow. There are opportunities God will bring into a person’s life that cannot be embraced with yesterday’s faith. Greater assignments require greater trust in God. If faith never develops, then the person will remain limited to what they can presently handle. But when faith increases, new possibilities open. Scripture reminds us that “faith works by love” (Galatians 5:6), so as faith grows, love must grow also.

This is where many people struggle. They want greater influence, greater opportunity, and greater increase, but they do not want the demands that come with spiritual growth. The higher a person goes, the more they must walk in love. They must be quick to forgive, patient with people, and willing to love even when others are difficult. Love is not optional for the believer. It is part of spiritual maturity.

Growth also requires paying the price. In life, many people want the reward first and the discipline later, but that is not how life works. A person must be willing to do what is necessary ahead of time. They must be willing to pray more, study more, discipline themselves more, and make room for the things that will help them grow. Spiritual increase, just like natural increase, requires labor.

First Corinthians 3:8 says that each one “will receive his own reward according to his own labor.” That means a person’s progress is not based on someone else’s effort. It is based on their own. This removes jealousy and comparison. The believer does not have to be distracted by what someone else is doing. They simply have to keep walking with God, remain diligent, and continue laboring in the direction God has given them.

Another important part of growth is recognizing what is holding you back. Not everything in a person’s life can go with them to the next level. Some habits have to be broken. Some distractions have to be removed. Some patterns must be corrected. Second Timothy 2:20–21 teaches that if a man cleanses himself, he can become a vessel of honor, sanctified and useful for the Master. That means personal responsibility matters. If something is hindering growth, it must be addressed.

God wants His people to go higher, but they cannot do so while remaining the same. As a person changes, their environment and surroundings will begin to reflect that change. Improvement on the inside eventually produces visible change on the outside.

Going to the next level requires change. It requires growth in faith, growth in love, diligence in labor, and a willingness to let go of whatever is holding you back. When those things take place, the believer is no longer limited to where they have been. They become prepared for where God wants to take them.

There Is Nothing Too Hard for God

There Is Nothing Too Hard for God

Many believers know that God is able, but when pressure comes, they begin to question His ability. They question whether God can heal them, whether God can provide for them, whether God can turn the situation around, and whether God can do what His Word says. But the truth remains the same: there is nothing too hard for God.

Jeremiah said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You” (Jeremiah 32:17). If God made the heavens and the earth, then He can handle whatever is going on in our lives. There is nothing too difficult for Him. There is nothing too far gone for Him. There is nothing too broken for Him to restore.

One of the enemy’s greatest weapons is fear. Fear causes people to look at the problem more than they look at God. Fear causes people to focus on the report, the bill, the diagnosis, the pressure, and the uncertainty. But fear does not come from God. The Bible says, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). If fear is not from God, then we should not tolerate it. We are to walk by faith, not by fear.

This is why it is dangerous to keep questioning God. In Luke chapter one, Zacharias was given good news, but instead of receiving it with faith, he questioned how it could happen. He looked at his age. He looked at the circumstances. He looked at what seemed impossible. Many people still do the same thing today. God says, “I will make a way,” and they ask, “How?” God says, “I will heal you,” and they ask, “How?” God says, “I will provide,” and they ask, “How?” But faith does not have to know how. Faith simply believes that God is able.

Second Kings chapter seven gives us another example. The word of the Lord declared that deliverance and provision were coming, but one man responded in unbelief. He questioned whether such a thing could happen. The miracle still came to pass, but his unbelief kept him from enjoying it. That should get our attention. Unbelief will rob a person of what God is willing to do. God’s ability was never the issue. The issue was whether the man would believe.

Sometimes we do the same thing. God says He can heal, but we prepare ourselves to live with the condition. God says He can bless, but we settle for barely getting by. God says He can deliver, but we talk as if the bondage will always be there. We must be careful with our words. We must be careful what we continue to say in God’s ear. If all we say is defeat, lack, sickness, and fear, then we are not agreeing with the Word of God.

Jesus also experienced this in His hometown. The people were too familiar with Him, and because of their unbelief, they did not receive what was available. Their unbelief hindered them. The same thing still happens today. When people become more conscious of the problem than they are of the power of God, they position themselves to expect less than what God desires to do.

The truth is simple: there is nothing too hard for God. He can heal. He can provide. He can deliver. He can restore. He can turn things around. He can do what man cannot do. The believer’s responsibility is not to figure everything out, but to believe. We do not have to know how God will do it. We simply have to know that He can.

Whatever you are facing today, do not magnify the problem above the power of God. Do not let fear speak louder than the Word. Do not let unbelief cancel what faith can receive. God is still able, and there is still nothing too hard for Him.

Freedom Through Christ

Freedom Through Christ

Many people desire change in their lives, yet true and lasting freedom begins with understanding why Jesus came. His coming was not symbolic, nor merely historical. It was purposeful. Jesus came to restore what had been lost and to free mankind from the effects of the fall.

Scripture teaches that through one man, Adam, sin entered the world, and with sin came death and its consequences (Romans 5:12). Fear, defeat, brokenness, and the curse became part of humanity’s reality. Yet the same chapter reveals a greater truth—through Jesus Christ, grace abounds, righteousness is restored, and those who receive Him are called to reign in life (Romans 5:17). Where defeat once ruled, victory is now made available.

The Word of God clearly states the mission of Christ: “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8). Jesus did not come to coexist with bondage. He came to undo it. He did not come to add burdens, but to remove them. His ministry consistently revealed the heart of God—restoration, deliverance, and freedom.

We see this clearly in Luke chapter thirteen. A woman had been bound by infirmity for many years, unable to straighten herself. Jesus did not describe her condition as God’s will, but as bondage. When He saw her, He declared, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity” (Luke 13:12), and immediately she was made straight. Later, Jesus made it clear that she had been bound by Satan (Luke 13:16). This moment reveals a powerful truth: God is not the author of bondage—He is the One who releases.

Jesus Himself explained the contrast between God’s work and the enemy’s work: “The thief comes only to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). Destruction, oppression, and defeat do not originate with God. Life, restoration, and freedom do.

Through Christ, believers are not called to live under fear, defeat, or oppression. Scripture declares that we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17), called to walk in the victory He secured. Freedom begins when we align our thinking with the truth of God’s Word and refuse to accept anything contrary to His promises.

What was once broken can be restored. What was once bound can be loosed. What once ruled in defeat no longer has authority over those in Christ. “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed” (John 8:36).

Through Jesus, freedom is not only possible—it is the will of God.

God Wants You Whole—Spirit, Soul, and Body

God Wants You Whole—Spirit, Soul, and Body

Many people are sincere in their faith, but sincerity alone is not enough. We must hear and understand the truth of God’s Word, because truth is what produces freedom. Jesus went throughout Galilee teaching the truth and healing those who were oppressed, showing us both the nature of God and His desire for our lives. Scripture reminds us, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).

There are many misunderstandings about God. Some believe God allows sickness to teach lessons or that lack is meant to keep us humble, but these ideas do not reflect the truth of His Word. God desires that we be well, strong, and whole. He is a God who restores and redeems. As Psalm 103 declares, He forgives our sins, heals our diseases, and redeems our lives from destruction (Psalm 103:2–4). No matter where a person has been or what they have experienced, God has the power to transform their life when they turn to Him.

God’s work in our lives is not limited to physical healing alone. He also desires to bring healing to the inner life—the mind, the will, and the emotions. Many believers carry emotional wounds, discouragement, or heaviness, but God’s plan is restoration and wholeness. Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted and to bring freedom to those who are bound (Luke 4:18). Through Him, we are not meant to live in continual sorrow, fear, or defeat, but in strength and peace.

The Word of God speaks clearly about the completeness of His work in us: “May the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless” (1 Thessalonians 5:23). God’s desire is that we be whole in every part of our being—not partially restored, but fully strengthened by His grace. This wholeness reflects the life of Christ Himself, and Scripture reminds us that “as He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17).

Although challenges may come, they do not have to define us. Like a ship that remains safe as long as the water stays outside of it, we can remain steady even when circumstances surround us. The danger comes when fear, anxiety, or discouragement are allowed to take root within. When Peter turned his eyes away from Jesus, he began to sink, reminding us of the importance of keeping our focus on the Lord. God’s promise remains sure: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).

God desires that we walk in freedom and wholeness today. This begins by embracing the truth of His Word, choosing faith over fear, and refusing to accept anything that Christ has already redeemed us from. Through Him, we are strengthened, restored, and made whole—for “whom the Son sets free is free indeed” (John 8:36).
