Many believers know that God is able, but when pressure comes, they begin to question His ability. They question whether God can heal them, whether God can provide for them, whether God can turn the situation around, and whether God can do what His Word says. But the truth remains the same: there is nothing too hard for God.
Jeremiah said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You” (Jeremiah 32:17). If God made the heavens and the earth, then He can handle whatever is going on in our lives. There is nothing too difficult for Him. There is nothing too far gone for Him. There is nothing too broken for Him to restore.
One of the enemy’s greatest weapons is fear. Fear causes people to look at the problem more than they look at God. Fear causes people to focus on the report, the bill, the diagnosis, the pressure, and the uncertainty. But fear does not come from God. The Bible says, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). If fear is not from God, then we should not tolerate it. We are to walk by faith, not by fear.
This is why it is dangerous to keep questioning God. In Luke chapter one, Zacharias was given good news, but instead of receiving it with faith, he questioned how it could happen. He looked at his age. He looked at the circumstances. He looked at what seemed impossible. Many people still do the same thing today. God says, “I will make a way,” and they ask, “How?” God says, “I will heal you,” and they ask, “How?” God says, “I will provide,” and they ask, “How?” But faith does not have to know how. Faith simply believes that God is able.
Second Kings chapter seven gives us another example. The word of the Lord declared that deliverance and provision were coming, but one man responded in unbelief. He questioned whether such a thing could happen. The miracle still came to pass, but his unbelief kept him from enjoying it. That should get our attention. Unbelief will rob a person of what God is willing to do. God’s ability was never the issue. The issue was whether the man would believe.
Sometimes we do the same thing. God says He can heal, but we prepare ourselves to live with the condition. God says He can bless, but we settle for barely getting by. God says He can deliver, but we talk as if the bondage will always be there. We must be careful with our words. We must be careful what we continue to say in God’s ear. If all we say is defeat, lack, sickness, and fear, then we are not agreeing with the Word of God.
Jesus also experienced this in His hometown. The people were too familiar with Him, and because of their unbelief, they did not receive what was available. Their unbelief hindered them. The same thing still happens today. When people become more conscious of the problem than they are of the power of God, they position themselves to expect less than what God desires to do.
The truth is simple: there is nothing too hard for God. He can heal. He can provide. He can deliver. He can restore. He can turn things around. He can do what man cannot do. The believer’s responsibility is not to figure everything out, but to believe. We do not have to know how God will do it. We simply have to know that He can.
Whatever you are facing today, do not magnify the problem above the power of God. Do not let fear speak louder than the Word. Do not let unbelief cancel what faith can receive. God is still able, and there is still nothing too hard for Him.
